A memory - Rundgang UDK Berlin 2011

I will never forget this trip and what it meant to me to really talk to You and experience this true, great passion for illustration and for life in general. I was not a perfect man at that moment, but I was becoming a better artist certainly.
I remember that evening when the lights in the school were beaming and we travelled through the corridors of UDK. You had such passion and energy to jump through the stairs in the school - I had to follow your steps everywhere as You were always the first to get there, to the point of our journey.
I also remember thinking about Your words. Will I do illustration in my life? I said to You that certainly I will. However, I know now that it was an emotional statement. Life brings its disappointments and obstacles. But thinking about it now, almost three years after, I realize that it was a promise given to You.
I am sorry that You are not with us right now. Your guidance is still needed here by many of us. But I suppose You were also needed elsewhere, in a place where there are many more beaming lights than in UDK during that eventful evening.

Odszedł Przyjaciel
Wczoraj w nocy odszedł Profesor Zygmunt Januszewski. Wybitny rysownik, grafik i pedagog. Mój wspaniały Przyjaciel, a jednocześnie wielki Autorytet i Mentor. Jego dzieło będzie kontynuowane przez studentów, których natchnął pozytywną myślą i ambicją do twórczego, ilustracyjnego działania. Żegnaj, Wielki Przyjacielu. I do zobaczenia.
